From Broadcasting to Lifecycle Orchestration

The difference between a messaging tool and a lifecycle operating model is not the number of channels. It is whether customer state, decision rules, and feedback determine what happens next.

Broadcasting is activity

Static audiences can receive planned messages with limited awareness of what happened before or after. This can create volume without a coherent view of the customer relationship.

Orchestration coordinates decisions

Segmentation, triggers, conditions, exclusions, waiting periods, goals, and exit rules work together when they reflect a shared model of state and intended action.

Governance keeps it useful

As journeys grow, priority, ownership, exclusion rules, and review become essential. Sophisticated logic still needs an operating model that people can understand and maintain.

Good lifecycle design coordinates decisions, not simply messages.
